A Payroll Accountant at Hero is responsible for calculating commissions, processing payroll, benefits enrollment, and other accounting related tasks. Candidates who will thrive in this role enjoy taking on new tasks, manipulating data in Excel, and getting details right the first time. Schedule
  • 35–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Hours are flexible and can be set between 7–8am start and 3:30–5pm end time

Essential Job Duties
  • Prepare, calculate, and review information for payroll and process weekly through ADP
  • Process reporting for staff and journal entries for QuickBooks from payroll data
  • Work closely with 401k enrollments and contributions, benefits enrollments, onboarding tasks, and exiting paperwork
  • Respond to verification of employment, worker’s compensation, disability, and unemployment requests
  • Assist in completing weekly job costing spreadsheets, general AP and AR tasks, and credit card coding

Qualifications
  • Demonstrates Hero core values at a high level (T.R.U.E.)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving and criminal record
  • 2-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in working with payroll and or accounting
  • Basic to intermediate experience in QuickBooks
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Able to communicate professionally, clearly, and concisely
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Personality that blends well with a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
  • Independent work ethic with an ability to collaborate within a team
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and has a great attitude on life
