Peiroles Marte was as good a person as he is a plumber. He explained every step he performed and why he was doing it. He asked if there were any questions and cleaned up the work site when finished. Mr Marte is a great people person Who is also good at ...his job.
Professional, knowledgeable, very likeable, answered all our questions, seems like a person you can trust.
Very pleased with the service. Jon was knowledgeable thorough friendly and did an excellent job.
Robert was very courteous and explained every step he was taking. We have to have a plumber come out to see if the problem is with our water heater, and he took care of that appointment. He’s a super guy!
Steffon was of great service. Very friendly and clean. Very eager to help with any issues. Will definitely recommend to anyone.
Great work and ok cost, very responsive
I originally gave Hero 5 stars but I have had to change it. Our AC unit broke and they had a technician out during the same day- but you pay for it- $75 just for the guy to show up. Tech says we have a leak in the AC and that he can either just fill the ...coolant for $300 or seal the leak for $1000. If we don’t fix the leak and just fill the coolant it might just all leak out again, so under guidance of the technician we opt to seal the leak because he said it will last 3-5 years. Still under the guidance of the technician we agree to get our ducts cleaned through Hero which is much, much more expensive than other companies ($1,000). So we spent $2,000 in an effort to keep our current AC unit working as long as possible and doing everything the technician suggested. 3-5 years? The AC unit didn’t last 3 weeks. My wife calls Hero and asks them to come out on the one day either of us is home during the week- and they say they can’t come out that day. I then call and explain my frustration and they agree to come that day. The same exact tech comes out and says the AC unit is completely shot and needs to be replaced. Livid, we contact the manager for a refund of the $1,000 for the AC fix that didn’t work at all. Was told she would call back- but we had to call because we weren’t called. She was then not prepared to discuss the situation with us because she hadn’t reviewed the case. She asked if she could call the next day. She says, “it is possible that something could come up and I won’t be able to give you an answer tomorrow but I promise I will call you tomorrow no matter what to let you know where we are at.” She never called. It was then the weekend so she missed her window by 3 days when she finally called us on Monday. The offer? A refund of $470 dollars or the full $1,000 if we buy the new AC unit we need from them. By agreeing to give us $1,000 off a new AC unit she admits that is the number we are truly owed, but cuts it in half unless we continue to use their business when they have given no reason to. Two added bonuses to the situation are that while cleaning the ducts their worker scratched our wood floors. They also originally double charged us so they had an interest free loan of $1,000 for 3-5 days. All totaled I really don’t think we are asking too much to get our money back when they didn’t fix the problem and actually created many other issues.
Dan did a great job. I will recommend Hero. Mike did our furnace inspection today and he did a fine job. I will recommend Hero.
Jim was great. He was on time and he did a great job.. If I need service again in the future, I want him to be the technician you send. Thanks a lot.
Gary came to my home for furnace annual maintenance. He was respectful of me and my home by wearing a mask and shoe coverings. He found I needed an igniter and promptly sourced the part and installed it quickly. He also disconnected my bathroom sink ...stopper at my request even though it wasn't part of his order. Customer service motivated, knowledgeable and thorough. Thank you Gary.
the work done is great. the scheduling part is a nightmare. I have had to wait all day, to find out they tried to call me. even though I had phone on me the whole time. I am going to look for a different plumbing and heating service
Shower drain running slowly.
John did an outstanding job to determine the problem with my water softener and replacing it. John went above and beyond! Very happy with the service. Would highly recommend.
Loved Hero's approach, from the initial call with Nicole at customer service to the prompt (within the hour!) arrival of Steffon their drain tech, the people were helpful experts that were a real pleasure. Definitely recommend.
John was courteous and efficient. He clearly explained options and everything he was doing, as well as preventative measures to make sure the problem doesn't recur.
my sewer block in the basement, they came on Sept-18-2020 and advice me to do hydro jet then they did it in 2 minutes and said pipe broken, they charge me $972.75 . I get on their website it show only $69 for hydro jetting then i called and asked them ...why they charged me $972.75 for 2 minutes hydro jet while the sewer still block? they explained something that very stupid.. finally i paid $972.75 for 2 minutes hydro jet but my sewer still block.
He was extremely helpful and patient over all grad A service will definitely recommend
Very professional & communicate well.
I’ve had Hero service my residence numerous times for repairs, installs, and maintenance and I have always been happy with the service. They got me in timely and the employees were very professional on the phone and when they serviced my home. I’m a ...member of the Happy Homeowner club, which has definitely been worth it for me!
Phil and his assistant, Erik where most helpful in answering all my questions and concerns with patience and they were very professional about explained in detail of what they were about to do as this job became a little more comprehensive than ...originally thought. Phil kept his workstation very organized and clean. As he finished his work, he put everything in order and left the bathroom very nice. This team from Uptown Plumbing was a please to work with. Today, Feb. 11, 2016, Phil stopped by to perform the follow up check on my new Waterheater to make sure that the units were running as they should. Everything checked out satisfactory. As always, Phil, representing Uptown, was punctual, professional and took time to answer my questions. It is a pleasure to do business with Uptown.
Was fast efficient and seemed to know what he was doing W Expensive though!
UPDATE - CHANGED FROM 5 TO 2: had them out because water backing up from floor drain in basement. Plumber said it was main drain so used their $93 main drain special. Seemed better so signed up for their annual "Happy Home" plan. 3 hours later, floor ...drain backed up again. Call center couldn't tell me if what I paid already would be applied toward any additional service that might be needed.
Very satisfied explained everything to me thoroughly did an excellent job solved my problem very clean and a very nice tech that was sent to our home I would definitely use them again
We had a backflow in our basement kitchen. We used Hero because of the advertised deal. The tech came out quickly. Explained the issue (collapsed drain pipe) and was out the next day to fix it. He worked hard and cleaned up after the service. And was ...able to split some of the work with my husband to keep the price reasonable. Very pleased, and we will use them again in the future.
Brandon followed up with a camera inspection of our sewage pipe after earlier drain unclogging. He was patient and thorough in explaining our options for preventing future clogs, and clear about pricing. We were inspired with confidence and felt like the ...company sincerely cared about the best solution.
We needed the shut off valves on our washing machine lines replaced and it had to be done today because the new one is coming tomorrow. Sean explained our options in language we could understand and was SO polite the entire time. He did the job faster ...than expected and cleaned up when it was done. We got new pipes and more accessible shut off valves that will last longer than we will. We couldn’t be more pleased with the work. Thanks, Sean!
Great job! Very friendly and patient even though I was working from home and on conference calls most of the time.
Adam did a great job. Explained everything clearly and worked diligently to get my HVAC system working as it should. Well recommended.
Tony was very professional and kind in explaining the issues and also on how to fix it in future. Definitely recommend. The only downside is the price, please lower your prices for smaller jobs, so I don't mind using your services for smaller jobs in ...future. Thank you!
Steve was really good and informative through the entire process. Cleaned up after finishing. Have used this company before and will continue to do so. Highly recommend this company.
Ryan Richardson was professional and friendly. I really appreciated his explanation of our furnace system, maintenance steps, and how any repair needs impact the operation of our furnace. Definitely recommend Ryan and Hero.
Typical bait and switch tactic. $93 special isn't that at all. "Well technically this is your branch line so that pricing doesn't apply......". GFY.....
Anthony was professional and patient. He accomplished the task pretty quickly, even with extra things to do, and it didn't cost a thing! All set for winter now 🙂
Dan L. from Hero did the annual check of the furnace/boiler and water heater. He did an exceptional job - very thorough maintenance check and found some small but important details to correct, which he was able to do immediately. I'd be happy to have ...Dan return again.
Very nice thorough and friendly!!! Thank you Ali
Tony did a great job, very courteous and was able to get the job done quickly and without any problems.
Yearly furnace maintenance, Adam was wonderful. Very knowledgeable.
Very good experience. Dylan was thorough and professional. Explained everything well. Very satisfied Just had a toilet repaired as well. Jim was great. Professional, efficient and thorough. Another job well done!
Dylan was very pleasant and professional to work with. He listened carefully to our concern and did a thorough investigation to get at the problem. He shared with us pictures of his findings and gave us options for the repair. We were very satisfied ...and thankful.
I thought the techs were very informative of what was the issue and how they can either fix it or replace it. They gave you options and acted like it was their home and they were spending the money to fix it. Well done!
Ryan came for our boiler maintenance and tune up and remembered being at our house for a previous job a couple years ago. He was just as professional and easy to talk to as he was in the previous visit. He wore a mask and shoe coverings while in the ...house. He found a CO leak in the boiler and clearly communicated the necessary steps to replace our boiler unit. I was impressed by the extra step Hero takes, calling in another technician to confirm the CO leak was not just due to faulty testing equipment. We will continue using Hero for years to come as we have built a good relationship with employees like Ryan, along with getting affordable expert services and advice.
Sean was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. He repaired the problem in our bathroom quickly and thoroughly.
Very professional and know what he is doing. My pipe did give him a hard time. He did not left till he fix the issue. Around 8 hours working on my property. Did not want to leave till he fix the issue. 5 of 5
PREDATORY PRACTICES FOR EMERGENCY SERVICE I wasn’t going to write a review because there was somewhat of a resolution but when it fell short of what was promised, I felt compelled. In the beginning of September, I was going to replace a shower faucet ...in our master bathroom one afternoon. Being pretty handy and doing numerous small plumbing jobs over the years, I felt I could handle it. Unfortunately, I tweaked a corroded fixture in the wall which began to leak. It leaked enough water to the point where it was leaking through the kitchen ceiling below. I turned off the master water valve and called a couple of plumbers I knew. They were tied up on contracting jobs and I needed it done right away since we didn’t have water in the house. I’ve seen Hero Plumbing’s advertisements on TV so I figured I would give them a shot. Wow, was I in for a surprise. Hero was able to come out within a couple of hours and promised a diagnosis for $89. I showed the tech what was wrong, explaining we just wanted a “cheap fix” since I had the fixture and we were going to remodel the bathroom in the near future. The tech went downstairs to check my water softener and upon returning, showed me two options for the fix: Best and Better. Best was $1330 and Better was $1472. I was floored. I knew what needed to be done and it should only take about 2-3 hours max. I explained I felt I was being taken advantage of and was told they are a union shop, he was a journeyman and a permit would need to be pulled through the city. I found the permit requirement odd due to my experience being around the trades and knew journeymen typically charge $100/hr on the high end while a master plumber is usually $150/hr max. I pleaded that we needed water in the house and asked to get the price down. He explained removing the specialized access wall panel would save $180. I asked what made it special, so he showed me an image of it and said it was spring loaded. I told him to go ahead with the cheaper of the two jobs, minus the wall plate, thinking I would deal with management later. While he was working, I checked Home Depot’s website and found the same panel for $15. When he was installing the faucet I purchased, I went into the master bedroom closet and looked at the parts which were installed. Needless to say, the parts he supplied were $10 max! The tech finished in 2 hours and I could not believe we just paid $547.50/hr for Hero to fix our leak. The next morning I called the city to line up an inspection. The inspection coordinator did not understand why a permit was pulled because it was not needed. They refunded Hero for it and strongly encouraged that I contact them to request a refund. I called Hero and requested to speak with a manager about our issue surrounding their pricing. Just shy of 48 hours, I received a call back from a representative of Hero. I explained that the permit was not needed, I had some knowledge being around the trades and the plumbers I typically use were all tied up on jobs. I went on to say their practices seemed predatory and felt I was being taken advantage of during a time of need. They told me the best they could do was refund 10% of the bill, plus the cost of the permit. I confirmed with the rep. that I would be receiving a $204 credit back to my credit card, which would still be $488.50/hr, well above what a master plumber would charge. Now when I write this, it’s not to disparage the courteousness or the install from the plumber. It’s to advise others of the predatory practices of Hero Plumbing during a time of need. I finally got the refund back from Hero in the amount of $200, not the $204 which was promised. You might say it’s only $4 they didn’t give back to you but for me, this was the breaking point to write this review. In the service industry customer experience is everything and your word is your word. In the eyes of Hero Plumbing, this obviously is not the case. They might do good work if you plan ahead, but when a last-minute emergency arises, BE AWARE!
My service professional, Phil, was fantastic. I called Hero at 12pm and they were at my house by 1pm to help me. My water heater had a defective value and they called the manufacturer and a parts supplier to try to replace. When the part wasn't ...available, they were able to install a new one immediately. I'm very grateful for their speed and efficiency.
Literally the best service I've ever had. Text message notifications with pictures of the techs before they arrive, very friendly and knowledgeable. Unrivaled customer service in a world like this.
Our service technician was Mike. He arrived on time and was professional during the time he was here. He explained what he found and was careful to explain repairs/replacements that were optional and could wait awhile, if we chose. We'll use Hero ...Plumbing again!
great service, friendly and informative
Bill with Hero did a great job for us. We had a furnace tune-up that was very thorough and Bill clearly explained everything that he was seeing. He found a couple parts that had worn out and needed to be replaced. The work was done quickly, ...professionally, and the cost seemed reasonable. Thank you!
I was not there but my sister in law was. My first experience was awesome. I am torn with this one with the comments from family. He is a talker and talked about 2 hours of the time there. Did go out of his way to help and very, very nice. However ...complained about having to drink tap water so they went and bought him pop.... also, I thought the bill was going to be 891.00 NOT 1211. Still trying to figure this one out... this lady is on a tight budget and the extra 300+ did tap her out... Thanks!
Happy with service
Adam from Uptown Plumbing, Heating and Cooling performed a preseason heating inspection today. He was very professional and willing answered all of my questions. His inspection was thorough and he carefully explained his findings.
Service was fantastic and Nick was very knowledgeable and took the time and care to explain what was going on. Will use this service again if it's needed.
Bob D. came to my home in Maple Grove this morning to check the A/C that was installed by Uptown Plumbing & Heating & Cooling. Bob was very professional, efficient & helpful. I would recommend Uptown Plumbing to my friends & neighbors. Sara S. also was a ...big help today on the phone.
Was here early and was able to fix the issue within 30 minutes.
Larry did an amazing job.
09/14/20 - Ali T. was my technician today. He was professional, through, and very informative. He provided 5 star service. He wore a mask and self distanced. After completing the bi-annual HVAC maintenance check, he addressed the two issues that were ...identified during the 12/08/19 check (replacing the motor in the air exchanger & the air purifier). Bottom line, he said the furnace has a fresh air exchanger and this was an additional one so if I decided not to fix it, that was ok. That saved me $$. Also, he said there was nothing wrong with the air purifier so he changed the filter and turned it on. That was a much different recommendation & advice than the 12/08/19. That variance always gives me pause. 06/01/20 - (Update to 05/12/20 Review) - I was expecting an estimate for a new hot H2O heater but it didn’t arrive. So after waiting a few weeks I called HERO and spoke to Lance who was the technician who came out to look at it. He said he would send it after Memorial Day. I’m still waiting for it! 🙁. As a result, replacing it didn’t factor into my home maintenance 2020/21 plans. To me, follow through is important when it comes to good service. Therefore, I’m changing the 5 Star rating to 4 Stars. 05/12/20 - Due to Chad’s recommendation (see 5/6/20 review), Lance came out to look at my H20 heater to provide his assessment, recommendation, as well as an estimate to replace it. He asked good questions to understand capacity needs, took time to educate me about what to look for should it start to fail sooner than later and didn’t use scare tactics to make an immediate sale. When I do replace it, I will definitely have HERO do the work. 05/06/20 - Chad was prompt, professional, and took extra care to meets new Covid-19 precautions (mask, gloves, 6’ distance). He thoroughly checked my now 18 month old HVAC system and identified other issues (Air Exchange motor and air filter need replacing) as well as hot water heater age and life span. He suggested and made arrangement for Hero plumbing to come and look at the H20 heater to provide a free estimate to replace it. There was no pressure to buy or replace anything immediately but wanted me to be aware and use the estimate and information on all identified issues to begin educating myself and prioritize replacement needs. 12/18/19 - This was the second check-up since having the HVAC installed in October, 2018. Dan, the technician, was on time and very professional. He fixed a loose fitting on the humidifier which stopped the leaking. He also identified two additional issues which he explained he could fix/replace today but overall would not negatively impact the heating of the house. Overall, Dan did a good job. 06/12/19 - From beginning to end, the service that HERO provided was excellent. As promised, I received a phone call (as well as a text and an email) 30 minutes prior to the Hero technicians arrival. Brandon and Larry were friendly and very professional. They answered my questions and provided recommendations on parts and service....and there was no pressure sales tactics. I’m generally not a person who buys an extended service contract for anything, however, with an older HVAC unit, it seemed like a good deal to ensure it’s running right. I recommend HERO for your seasonal HVAC check-ups.
Zac did a very good job of examining our very complicated in floor heating system and giving us an estimate of the cost to repair.
Andy was amazing. The problem was a simple fix, but he took the time to explain the details carefully so I understood my unit. He made me feel important and really set my mind at ease. Thank you !!
