Natural DIY Bathroom Cleaning Alternatives

Why use chemical bathroom cleaners that are bad for your health when you can create your own healthier alternatives? The bathroom is one of the most important rooms in the home to keep clean, so keep these all-natural cleaning alternatives in mind next time you have a cleaning day.

Ingredients:

  • Baking soda – cleans, deodorizes, scours

  • Castile soap or vegetable oil-based liquid soap – cleans

  • Distilled white vinegar – cuts grease and soap scum, dissolves mineral deposits, and inhibits mold

  • Water

Tub and Tile Cleaner

Shake before using and apply with a cloth or sponge and rinse well.

 

1 ⅔ cup baking soda

½ cup vegetable oil-based liquid

½ cup water

2 tbsp vinegar

Toilet Bowl Cleaner

Mix ingredients and leave in the toilet for 15 minutes (or longer, if need be), scrub, and flush.

Drain Cleaner

Mix the baking soda and vinegar and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, rinse with boiling water and repeat. You may need to leave baking soda or vinegar in the drain overnight and rinse out in the morning.

Showerhead Cleaner

Mix ingredients in a plastic bag and dip your showerhead in the bag. Let your showerhead soak in the solution for one to two hours before you wipe it off.
